





As a player, Peter had a 20 year career with Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Essex and England. During that time, as a spin bowler he took over 1,000 wickets in First XI County Cricket. On 51 occasions he took 5 wickets in an Innings and had nine 10 wicket bags. In his 11 Test Matches he took 37 wickets including two 5 wicket hauls with a Test Match best of 6 for 67 on debut verses Australia at Old Trafford.
Domestic highlights included winning 2 County Championships with Essex and appearing in 3 show piece Lords Cup Finals, winning both the Nat West Trophy and the Benson and Hedges Cup. He has a career best in First Class Cricket of 8 for 93 and a match best analysis of 13 for 213. Other notable achievements with the ball include holding the record for the most number of overs bowled in an innings by a bowler in the history of the County Championship finishing with bowling figures of 86 overs 49 maidens 94 runs & 4 wickets.


Since leaving the game as a player, Peter has worked in numerous roles straddling both sport and business. For the past 10 years he was National Lead Spin Bowling Coach with responsibility to develop International Spin Bowlers, put in place programmes that support this development, as well as leading coach education and research into the art of spin bowling. Over recent years worked closely with the likes of Monty Panesar, Graeme Swann, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Jack Leach, Matthew Parkinson, Zafar Ansari, Mason Crane and Dominic Bess, whilst also supporting England Under 19, England Lions and County Spin Bowlers. During this time he has accrued a wealth of knowledge, which he brings to all his coaching together with a passion for spin bowling.
